Removal of Basic Organic Dyes of Textile Dyeing and Printing Industrial Waste Water by a Natural and Cost Effective Adsorbent

چکیده
Dyes are one of prevalent types of chemicals used by human being today. Dyes are organic compounds which have complex aromatic molecular structure that make them toxic and harmful. When these dyes introduced with water due to textile dyeing and printing industrial waste water may cause problems to all living organism. In these dyes highly toxic metals are used as mordents so the removal of these dyes is very essential. In the present study NBP is used as adsorbent for the colour removal of TDP industrial waste water. The maximum adsorption i.e. 90.48% is found at pH 6 and adsorption data fitted well on Freundlich & Langmuir adsorption isotherm.

Investigation on the capability of Silkworm Pupa as a Natural Adsorbent for Removal of Dyes from Textile Effluent
Recently, use of naturally-occurring low-cost and harmless material for removal of trace contaminants from colored wastewater has attracted extensive attention. In this study, silkworm pupa has been used as a basic dye adsorbent. Adsorption capacity and isotherms have been assessed. Results show that adsorption isotherms can be expressed well by Langmuir equation. The effects of parameters such...

The mechanism of Methylene Blue adsorption on acid activated carbon Vitex Negundo Stem (AAVNS) has been studied through batch experiments. Generally, dyes are organic compounds used as coloring products in chemical, textile, paper, printing, leather, plastics and various food industries. The need for the treatment of dye contaminated waste water passed out from the industry. In this study, Vite...
متن کاملTextile Dyeing Wastewater Treatment
Textile industry can be classified into three categories viz., cotton, woolen, and synthetic fibers depending upon the used raw materials. The cotton textile industry is one of the oldest industries in China. The textile dyeing industry consumes large quantities of water and produces large volumes of wastewater from different steps in the dyeing and finishing processes. Wastewater from printing...
متن کاملDecolourisation of Synthetic Dyes by Agricultural Waste- A Review
Decolourisation of waste water has now become a major problem for the treatment plants in various industries. Many industries use synthetic dyes to colour their products such as textiles, rubber, paper, plastics, leather, cosmetic, food etc. Nearly 10-15% of synthetic textile dyes, used yearly are lost to waste streams and about 20% of these losses enter the environment through effluent from wa...
